Had a fantastic time with friends exploring the surrounding countryside! We hiked the Eden Valley Church Trails and cycled through beautiful lanes, making for a perfect getaway. The staff were accommodating, and the menu was varied and delicious. Just a great spot for a group trip.
The room needed some minor updates, especially the bathroom with loose trim and an occasional flushing issue.

The room was spacious and impeccably clean, offering a comfortable bed for a restful night. Staff members were exceptionally welcoming and accommodating, going above and beyond to ensure a pleasant experience. Unfortunately, the absence of a TV in the room was noticeable and a lack of fine dining options led to some culinary disappointments, with meals being more generous in portion than in quality.

Best sleep ever!
We had an amazing stay! The bed was like sleeping on a cloud – legit the best sleep I've had in a hotel. The atmosphere in the bar was super cozy, and the breakfast was sooo filling. Just a heads-up, make sure to book ahead or you might miss out, it gets busy!

perfect spot for park views and nearby historic gardens
I really enjoyed my time here, especially how quiet the village is now that the main road has been rerouted, making my walks to the beautiful Acorn Bank and the stunning Dalemain Mansion just a short stroll away. it felt great to relax in such a serene environment while still having access to lovely gardens nearby.

stayed here for one night with my friends & it was a really nice quirky place. the staff were super friendly & helpful for our late dinner, and the food was amazin. the room was comfy & clean, perfect for our cycling trip to great dun fell. loved the relaxed vibe of the bar and the whole place had a nice atmosphere. definitely recommend it for anyone looking for a chill stay in a cute village.
the bathroom coulda used a lil update and the wi-fi was a bit weak in our room. also, wish they had a safer place to lock up our bikes.

missingWrote a review on Jul 14bathroom issues
The decor and fixtures definitely show their age, with some bathroom features needing urgent updating, like a toilet that struggled to flush properly. Noise from the bar area trickled into the room, which could be a nuisance for light sleepers. the shower had a temperamental water temperature that fluctuated unexpectedly, making for a less than ideal experience while trying to freshen up.

Cozy stay with friendly vibes
Had a nice overnight visit, the staff were super friendly and helped us settle in. Dinner in the bar was lovely, especially with that cozy fire. Gotta say, the shower was more of a drizzle, kinda disappointing. But overall, great location and nice atmosphere for a brief escape.

the kings arms is located in a wonderfully quiet village, perfect for a relaxing stay. the management's thoughtful gesture of placing me on the top floor ensured a peaceful night's rest, away from any late-night functions. i also loved the secure storage for my bike, keeping it dry and safe while i enjoyed my time there. it's a great spot close to the lake district!
